Sunday Slim Down: Week 2

Due to the government shutdown, Slim Down Sunday will not be available this week. It has nothing to do with the empty cup of ice cream you see there. No ma'am.  It also has nothing to do with my sweet overtired toddler who developed a strange emotional attachment to my Mom's car and collapsed in a pile of tears every time someone drove it away thus driving me to drink (queso) (from Mi Cocina) (a bowl not a cup)  Nope.  It's the government's fault.

I was great. Really. I was real good at eating and exercising and stuff like that, I swear. And I would love to tell you about it, but I can't, due to, uh, lack of funding.  Speaking of, you know who else clearly hasn't gotten paid? My hairdresser. Seriously, with my roots.

Oh but I did discover I like quinoa. It's fun to eat and to say.

Quinoa.

Quinoa. Quinoa.

So I'm going to go quinoa crazy this week.

Quinoa.

* I'm writing this late at night while watching Miley Cyrus on SNL. After her first song, Wrecking Ball, my Dad in all seriousness says, "Meh not one of my favorites."  This has nothing to do with Slim Down Sunday, except that Miley apparently slimmed down from going "gluten free" and twerking.  I just thought it was funny.  It also might explain why this post is so weird.

Also, next week I'm going to come back with some programming notes.  I'm feeling the seas of change or the tides or, I don't know, whatever.

  1. Hey, thanks for being real!! :) Love the blue throw pillow ! It's so pretty that it really makes up for everything.

Too funny about your father. The other day my dad texted to me "Don't worry, it's all cool over here." It was funny until I realized my kids are probably saying the same thing about me....

  3. MiCo, how I miss thee!!! Every time I'm back in Dallas, I make myself sick on TexMex and Mambo Taxis. Oooooo..... so home sick!!! I for one say that you simply cannot be required to stick to a diet while visiting Dallas.

    XOXO,

  7. I came over to see what you were going to do for Halloween this year, after enjoying your last year's post. The jar of candies was such a tease (more so coz we do not hand out candy much here in Sweden). Now this one is even worse! I'll blame it to the mercury drop!
Wish I could borrow that cutie for a playdate, errr....with my 4 yr old), he is adorable!

  8. Hehe! Enjoy!! While you are sleep deprived I cannot imagine being to anything else deprived also. 9mths up, 9mths down as they say. I took that to mean don't even begin to think about worrying until the 9mths down are up. I think you also need at the VERY least 9mths to figure your new life out. And enjoy the new life :) And then, as they also say: eat to nourish your body and exercise to be fit not skinny :)

(i.e. Your Comment: what's up with the Biebs and Selena Gomez? My Reply: I don't know but it's keeping me up at night. He's so cryptic on Instagram, it's hard to really know)
