Baby Things

Morning y'all! Last night I posted a sneak peek at the nursery on Instagram.  I just hung my DIY artwork and my not-so-DIY tissue tassel garland that I ordered from here on Etsy

It's almost finished! I'm just waiting on my crib sheet and a magical fairy to come hang all of the baby clothes that I washed and set on the rocking chair.  As soon as those two things happen (along with a little zhushing), I'll take some pics for y'all! Hopefully next week.

I don't want to build it up too much though.  I kept it pretty simple, since we're not sure how this room will play out over the long term. (Will it be Little Robertson's Big Boy Room? Will it be another nursery? Who knows.  I'm certainly in no state of mind to make those decisions right now.)

Also can we talk about the Duke and Duchess for a second?

a. How beautiful is Kate here?

b. William has never looked better either.

I love how Kate rocked the post-pregnancy bump.  She looks amazing and could have easily hidden it, but she totally showed it off.  She did all of us pregnant ladies a favor.  I may or may not be packing some polka-dots for my Going Home Outfit.  But let's be honest, I'll probably end up leaving in my bathrobe.

Speaking of Going Home Outfits, how sweet is this little wrap sack from Kristaben?

I can tell you, it is the softest jersey fabric you'll ever feel.  Edward had a little pair of Kristaben footie pajamas that I was kind of obsessed with.

Finally, I need a baby monitor recommendation.  We had two Summer Infant monitors with Edward, both of which peaced-out on us.  One never worked in the dark and the other just went black.  Any recommendations would be great!

The countdown is on! Anytime in the next 3 weeks would be great.  I'm beyond ready!

  1. This is such an adorable nursery!! I love the details. And you are right, a baby looks so good on the duke ad duchess! xx. McKenna Lou

  2. Sorry long out of the baby product recommendation phase though I feel too young to be there, so its sad:( I will live variously through you and Kate!

LOVE the shot of the nursery and yes agree, Kate is beaming and looks adorable and sweet William has not looked better. Very exciting!

  3. We are on our 3rd Summer video monitor because it is the only brand we found with the light bar across the top. As the baby's cry increases the lights intensify all the way to red. With all three of my little ones I would turn the volume on the monitor all the way down (so my heart wouldn't break quite as much listening to them cry) and watch the light bar. It helped them learn to self sooth & put themselves back to sleep. Hope my rambling makes sense.

The nursery looks dreamy. Did you hang the wallpaper or were you lucky enough to inherit that when you moved in?

    1. I did the same thing with the light bar! It didn't occur to me that other monitors don't have one, so thank you for pointing that out!! That might sway me into getting another Summer. It's so hard to hear them cry, but sometimes they just have to (I learned that the hard way).

We inherited the wallpaper! Very lucky! It's perfect for a nursery.

  4. I'm taking my first peek at your blog at my friend Cannon's suggestion - love it and love Little's nursery! I'm expecting my second child as well and after much monitor research, we've decided to go with a surveillance camera called the Dropcam rather than a baby monitor. It seems like every one of the baby monitors gets so-so reviews. We've set up to keep an eye on my 21 mo old and so far, so good. It requires a wifi network, but the image is great, both day and night and we love being able to use our iPhones, iPads and computers to peek in on baby. Worth checking out!

Tell me somethin' good! I love your comments!

(i.e. Your Comment: what's up with the Biebs and Selena Gomez? My Reply: I don't know but it's keeping me up at night. He's so cryptic on Instagram, it's hard to really know)
