Midnight in Paris: Lavender & White

Kip loves to watch movies over and over and over.  Many times he puts one on to fall asleep and then passes out five minutes into it leaving me to finish the movie.  Then he tries to watch it again the next night because he "hasn't seen it in awhile."  Sometimes the movies are questionable sleepy time movies, like Gangs of New York or The Departed.  I cannot watch anything violent, upsetting or disturbing before bed (or really ever). I'm very passionate about this rule so I usually have a nice little freak out on him when it's something like that.  This week it's been Horrible Bosses or Midnight in Paris.  I loved Midnight in Paris and am happy to watch it over and over again.

I love the hotel room where much of the movie takes place.

The scenes were filmed in Le Bristol Paris.  I've been really drawn to lavender and white lately.  I'm thinking this would be great for a guest room or a young girl's room.

This room is so pretty and fresh and elegant.  I've never really been a big purple person, but that's starting to change.  I love lavender and white together paired with pale blue or silver sage or just on it's own with gold accents like in the room above.  Here's some more lavender and white for y'all.

Basically, I love a touch of lavender and lots of white or pale blue. Thoughts? Now if you haven't seen Midnight in Paris go watch it.  It's fantastic!

Have a lovely day!

P.S. Is anyone else having enormously frustrating formatting issues with blogger today? The white space at the top of this post is turning me into a crazy person.  I almost gave up on this post 6 times.  Just thought I'd check.

  1. Me, too, Jennifer~I have a lavender and off white guest room and I love it. Your images are great! xo Diana

  2. Gorgeous rooms! I love, love that movie! Watched it twice the past two weeks! Ha!

  3. Totally having a purple moment right now. It's always been one of my least favorite colors, but then my girl Ina Garten had to go and declare purple her new orange. And since Ina is my guru, I too now love a touch of purple. And I loooooove Midnight in Paris. So good!

  4. Have had that Kendall Wilkinson room in my files for a loooong time. Future inspiration for a guest room, same concept different colors. LOVE Midnight in Paris and have seen it twice so far but trust me there will be many more reruns. Kip and my hubs would get along great, same taste in movies. I am much more about pretty, feel good kind of movies, no thanks to the violence, swearing, gore, war ravaged flicks for me.
Love all the pretty inspiration here.....

  5. So pretty! You always find the most lovely inspiration. I think the lavender is really subtle. In Phoebe's work the most interesting aspect of that bath is how it is a blank slate. You can bring the color in via fresh florals and towels - pretty pretty!

  6. I've never been a huge lavender fan either, but lately I've seen some images, yours included, that make me think a little touch of it could be fun.

  7. Love your post. I'm not a big fan of purple either, although I do like lavender transferware. And yes, I've been having lots of problems with Blogger. I especially have trouble when I'm transferring a photo from Pinterest to my blog and I have to copy the code. I had to redo my post a few days ago about three times. So frustrating!

  8. Yes! Spacing was a big issue in a post I drafted today. Hopefully it looks okay tomorrow or I might have to write an apology at the end of the post.
Loved Midnight in Paris!!! All of the above images are just sooooo PRETTY!!

  9. I love the rooms that have a hint of lavender, like the gorgeous lavender blanket in the last image. One of my favorite flowers is the lavender hydrangea...perfect in a neutral palette room!!

  10. That picture from Elle Decor slays me.... (and I didn't even notice the white space until you mentioned it!) Have you ever used Windows Live Writer to compose your posts? I use it and like it a lot. Sometimes I compose directly from Blogger but mostly it frustrates me too much, so I edit and create first in the Windows Live and then send it over to Blogger.

  11. It's KTB...Midnight in Paris might be one of few movies we can watch together...I deplore "romantic comedies"! The Departed, Gangs of New York, Godfather I & II, Scarface, Goodfellas, Casino, American Gangster - maybe you could design a room with that in mind for me :-) The bathroom with the purple shades is to die for.

Tell me somethin' good! I love your comments!

(i.e. Your Comment: what's up with the Biebs and Selena Gomez? My Reply: I don't know but it's keeping me up at night. He's so cryptic on Instagram, it's hard to really know)
